Oh, weekend, how I love you.
How I've waited, now you're mine.
I'll see you tomorrow,
And everything will turn out fine.

May on the Way

I'm here waiting,
All the day,
Waiting for the month of May.
For Her beauty
I sit and wait,
From here I leave it up to fate.

My hopes will not abate,
My spirits now elate.
From here I leave it up to fate.
Oh Please May don't be late.

They Know What They Are Talking About

Find someone older than seventy,
I dare you to talk for an evening.
At least sit and listen very closely,
By the end you won't want to be leaving.
They might talk about their life,
As they start to reminisce,
Of all the days of their youth,
And opportunities missed.

Take to heart what they're saying,
For they're more or less warning,
Of regrets which you'll have
Every day, every morning
As a result of neglecting
All the chances you'll get.
For they'll haught you forever
And you'll never forget.

Doodles

To doodle is fun,
And sometimes it's weird.
They sometimes remind me
Of Aunt Rhonda's beard.

You don't need real skill,
To doodle all day.
Make it up as you go,
Like what Congressmen say.

Once you've done it enough,
You won't need to think twice.
You'll start writing on everything...
Maybe you'll want to think thrice.

Ode To An Idea That Popped Into My Head.

So I decided to stop.
It seemed quite silly,
That went bottom to top.
There once was a poem,

In Closing

The very best way,
To end every day-
Kneel on a knee,
And to God pray.
Thank him for life,
And for your wife.
Ask Him to bless you,
And take away strife.

But most important,
Never be arrogant.
Always be humble,
Always attendant.
Listening carefully,
To hear what He'll say,
The very best way,
To end every day.

Always Right There

No matter what I do,
He's always right behind me.
No matter where I hide,
Trouble always seems to find me.

I could have the best intention
And still he'd be right there.
All I'd have to do to fail,
Be caught off guard or unaware.

Limerick Friday (Sunday edition) - Fight Me, I'm a Little Bit Irish -

If I were to fight cuz im Irish,
T'would be silly and certainly childish.
For I'd pick a fight,
To prove my point right,
Just to prove I'm a little bit Irish.

Entropy

Oh, bedroom of mine
With door open wide.
Lets take a peek,
And see what's inside.

...Wow, what a mess,
White things now have turned black!
Must clean it up,
Before Mom gets back!

Optimism

Another year has gone by fast,
Nothing we do can change our past.
All we can do is look ahead,
We can't change what we did or said.

Look ahead at what is to come,
Know there's reasons for whats been done.
Know that the Lord has plans for you,
And ask him what he wants of you.

Flowers By The Road

On my way to work a week ago I came upon a two car crash in the early morning.  I was one of the first people to come to it since it had happened.  The police weren't even there yet.  Today on the way to work I passed the crash sight and there was a couple ladies placing flowers there.  I couldn't shake off the weirdest feeling all day.

Flowers by the roadside,
Remind us as we pass them by,
Here somebody's loved on died.
Even the Flowers feel the pain,
Through the sadness and through the rain,
Even the Flowers cry.

Limerick Friday: Hairy Situation, or Hairless

There once was a man with no hair,
His head was entirely bare.
He then had to pay,
To get a toupee,
So everyone else would not stare.

Fight to Finish First

When I race I'll get a feeling;
While fighting to finish first.
I'll run short of breath and my vision goes blurry,
And feel my lungs start to burst.

If not careful,
From dehydration,
I could loose
All concentration.
So, when I run
One thought in mind-
"To leave all others
Far, far behind."

Limerick Friday: Three's a Crowd

Nelly, Willy, and Billy,
Where acting overly silly.
When asked to quit,
Their ridiculous wit,
They continued to laugh and be silly.

Use Your God Given Talents, That's What They're There For

A song singing thrush,
Whistles while amongst the brush.
Not a single soul around
For him to have to hush.

A thought rushed his mind,
"I wish an audience to find.
I'll sing my songs which no one's heard
And break this 'same old grind'.

This talent I've been given,
Will go to waste if I don't share.
For God has given them to me
To all I must declare."

Have a Little Faith

This baby bird
Just couldn't fly,
In fact he never
Gave it a try.
However one day,
He was out on a sapling,
When it gave way,
His wings went a'flapping.

He looked all around
And saw that the ground,
Was quite far away,
So he yelled out "Hooray!
To think all this time
I've wasted in fear,
Why, when push came to shove
The truth was quite clear.
